A walking routine can be an important part of moving to the country. Mirboo North gives buyers considering Mardan a nearby township to explore on foot, with public recreation options that complement time on their own land.

Make the town visit part of your inspection trip. It helps turn a broad idea of a greener lifestyle into a practical picture of what you would do on an ordinary morning.

Start in the town centre

Visit Gippsland describes Mirboo North as a hill town in the Strzelecki Ranges and highlights its heritage-building murals, arts offering and centrally located Baromi Park.

Choose a short town walk and spend time rather than simply driving through. Notice the scale of the main street and the places you would use with family or visitors.

Check the Grand Ridge Rail Trail

The official South Gippsland visitor page describes the Grand Ridge Rail Trail as a 13-kilometre route between Mirboo North and Boolarra, suitable for walking and cycling, with access at Darlimurla as well as the end towns.

Check the current trail information and conditions before setting out. You do not need to complete the full route to decide whether returning for regular shorter walks would appeal.

Compare public trails with an everyday private loop

Springbank's approximately 530-metre walking and running track offers a different experience: a short loop within the property boundary, including stretches beneath mature cypress trees.

Walk the loop during the inspection and ask how often you would use it. A short route close to the house may become an everyday habit, while a public trail remains an outing. Both can have a place in a country routine.
